Print size options vary between SIGNATURE (rectangular pictures) and NOVELTY range (square pictures) of pictures.
WHAT IS THE QUALITY OF THE PRINT LIKE?
We use professional dye-ink photo printers made by Canon and the hi-Gloss White Film paper made by Pictorico for the following print types:
SIGNATURE Range prints with paper size of 13″ x 19″ (329mm x 483mm) and smaller.
All NOVELTY Range prints.
For SIGNATURE Range prints with larger print sizes, we use Shashin-Koyosha’s professional dye-ink and their Crystal coated paper.
CAN I ORDER PRINTS WITH IMAGE ASPECT RATIO OTHER THAN WHAT IS SPECIFIED?
No. The default aspect ratio is 2:3 for SIGNATURE Range of pictures and 1:1 for NOVELTY Range, and you cannot order prints in any other aspect ratio.
HOW SOON CAN YOU DISPATCH THE PICTURE(S)?
Your picture is printed “on demand”, and will be dispatched within 2 weeks from the order date. . The transit lead time differs depending on the delivery destination. Please refer to SHIPPING to find out the transit lead time specific to your country.
WHAT COURIER COMPANIES DO YOU USE?
We use EMS of Japan Post Co., Ltd. for deliveries to destinations outside of Japan. For destinations within Japan, we use TA-Q-BIN of Yamato Transport Co., Ltd.

WHAT ARE THE SHIPPING FEES?
Shipping fees differ depending on delivery destinations. Please refer to SHIPPING.
HOW WILL THE PRINTS BE PACKAGED?
The prints of pictures in the “Signature” Range (rectangular pictures) are shipped in cardboard tubes with sufficient cushioning materials inside.
The prints of pictures in the “Novelty” Range (square pictures) are delivered in cardboard boxes, and there will be sufficient cushioning materials in each box to protect your order.
WHAT IF THE PRINT ARRIVES DAMAGED?
Please take 3 photos of the damaged print(s) from various angles, attached them to the CLAIM FORM FOR DAMAGED PICTURES, and press “Submit.” We will dispatch a new print (new prints) within 2 weeks with no extra charge
WHAT IF I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE PRINT I PURCHASED?
If you’re not happy with a purchase that you made on moonlit-japan.com, for any reason, you can return it to us within 30 days after you receive the parcel. Please fill out RETURN PRINTS FORM and press “SUBMIT.” As soon as the parcel arrives back, we will issue a full refund for the entire purchase price.
PLEASE NOTE:
The “RETURN ORDER FORM” needs to be sent within 30 days after you receive your order, and the picture(s) must be received back by us within 20 days after you send the RETURN ORDER FORM.
The refund will cover the original cost of the picture and the outgoing shipping fee, and we will NOT be able to reimburse the return shipping cost.
WILL I HAVE TO PAY IMPORT DUTY AND OTHER TAXES ON THE PRINTS I PURCHASE?
All of our prints ship from Japan, and depending on the country of your residence, you might get asked by the local authority to pay import duty and/ or other taxes.
Please note, you may be contacted by the local authority asking whether you are willing to pay import duty and/ or other taxes when the parcel is in customs. And if you do not respond back, your picture may not clear customs.
WHAT IF I REFUSE TO PAY DUTY AND/ OR OTHER TAXES?
The parcel will be shipped back to Moonlit Japan. Please send an email using the CONTACT FORM and tell us that you have rejected the parcel. When we receive the parcel back, we will process the refund for the cost of the picture and the outgoing shipping fee.
WHERE IS MY ORDER?
As soon as your order ships, we’ll send you an e-mail confirmation with a tracking number and the URL for EMS parcel tracking site. If the delivery is for a destination within Japan, we will issue a tracking number for TA-
Q-BIN upon the dispatch of your order.
ARE THERE BULK-PURCHASE DISCOUNTS?
We do not offer any discounts for bulk purchases, but if your order value is $200 or higher, the delivery charge becomes free.
I'M BUYING A GIFT. WILL THE PURCHASE PRICE APPEAR ON THE INVOICE WITH MY ORDER?
As the package needs to go through customs, the pricing information will be printed on the documents attached to the outside of the parcel.
CAN I INCLUDE A GIFT MESSAGE WITH MY PURCHASE?
Unfortunately, you cannot include a gift message with your purchases from Moonlit Japan.
WILL THE MOONLIT JAPAN LOGO APPEAR ON MY PRINTS?
No. Our watermark logo will not appear on your prints. Our logo only appears on the images on our website in order to prevent image thefts.

NOVELTY Range refers to the pictures with 1:1 aspect ratio, and they are ideal for a set display with pictures aligned side by side, one above another, etc., to decorate your walls. There is also a PFB (paper on foamcore board) print option for NOVELTY Range of pictures, which is designed for a stand-alone display on wall shelves, miniature easels, etc.
